Kerrang! magazine announced the winners of their annual awards last night in an event at a top secret location in London. While some of the results were not really surprising considering recent trends (such as Slipknot winning best live act) quite a few of the picks elicited passionate outbursts from metalheads. The most controversial of all awards was 'The Prodigy ' winning best single for 'The Omen'. While a good song on its own, it seems out of place in comparison to other acts that won awards (Metallica, Mastodon, etc). Another highly questionable choice was 'Limp Bizkit' getting a Hall of Fame nod. Limp Bizkit !!! Other award winners included psychadelic act Mastodon, thrash/groove act Machine Head and legends Alice in Chains.
